When it comes to Solid State drives (SSD), Apiotek certainly won’t be the first company you would think of. SSD Drives are one of the latest buzz words in the technology arena and most electronic manufactures seem to want to get in the bandwagon to capitalize on the hype. Apiotek offers two SSD express card variants. One is based on an ExpressCard interface through USB channel (480Mbps) and the other is based on an ExpressCard interface through PCI-E channel (2.5Gbps). The device we’ll be testing today will be the 32GB Express Card interfacing through USB. Naturally given the limitations of speed on USB interfaces we didn’t expect to see earth shattering performances here, nevertheless 32GB of storage in this form factor is certainly very intriguing.
