Introduction

The popularity Bluetooth technology has gained over the past couple of years is far greater than the welcome it received when Bluetooth was first discovered in 1994. One of the main factors going against Bluetooth technology was the cost of Bluetooth products. Even today, Bluetooth products cannot be considered that cheap. Nevertheless greater acceptance by manufactures of mobile devices, motherboards etc, has resulted in the expansion of the Bluetooth market.

One of the forerunners is the Bluetooth market is this new company called Bluetake. They're one of the few manufactures who specialize in the manufacture of Bluetooth devices for PCs.

The versatility of Bluetooth applications is very profound and Bluetake seem to be making full use of this. Take a look at the range of products they offer; you'll be amazed. Today we bring to you three of their newest additions to their product lineup; the Bluetooth Printer adapter (BT200), Crystal Bluetooth USB Adapter and the BTake PC Phone software. If you want to get hold of some really cool pieces of hardware this summer, read on and find out how these tiny products could make life so much easier.

The BT009V is hardly any different to the POKE2 Bluetooth USB adapter we reviewed before, other than a few minor cosmetic changes. This one has a transparent outer shell and is sleeker than the POKE2. The device is offered in blue, green and Red to suit varying consumer tastes.

For those of you who are wondering what the BT009V is all about, it's basically a device that allows you to communicate with other Bluetooth devices through your PC. It's exactly like a thumb USB hard drive in shape and size, except for what it actually does. Simply hook this onto an available USB port and your PC is Bluetooth enabled. Now if you had any other Bluetooth enabled product, say for example a mobile phone, PDA etc you could easily communicate with them and perform a range of activities wirelessly. Some of these are Dial-up networking, Network access, File Transfer, Information Exchange and Fax services. We'll look into some of these later on. But first lets look at the specs and features of this product.
