Redesigning The Hardware:

Though based on NVIDIA's GF2 GTS GPU, the folk at Asus have put their creativity to work and taken their own path through the woods and strayed quite a bit from the reference design. Some major redesigning has been done on the outside portion, both front and back to add video digitizing on the V7700 Deluxe. Room has also been made for Asus's own VR-out for 3D Glasses and several video components like a composite-out and S-Video In/out.

The V7700 ships with 32MB of 333MHz DDR SGRAM. This gives up to 5.3 GB/sec bandwidth, which is ample for most gamers unless you constantly run at 1600x1200, if which is the case a 64MB card is most suited.

And since the GF2 GTS benefits from texture compression the 32 Megabytes will satisfy most gamers. The GPU gets extra cooling by a circular fan, which keeps the heat down. The additional Video components haven't got any fans or sinks to keep them cool, but over heating is not some thing we experienced with the V7700 Deluxe.

New Features:

The most exciting part of the Deluxe board is it's video digitizing functionality. It's possible to link a SVHS or composite source to the Deluxe and start recording to your hard drive straight away. The software bundled with the board let's you do time shifting, take screen shots as well as editing.
