Introduction
Since their
appearance in the market back in 1997 diamond multimedia has come
a long way. Ever since , diamond's, Monster Sound audio accelerators
were dominating the gaming market. When the original Monster Sound
card came into the market they challenged creative labs reign in
dos-based compatibility. The diamond MX300 was without doubt the
supreme of the range With acclaim earned on it's support for A3D
2.0, the revolutionary wave tracing API that introduced "life-like"
three-dimensional sound to the two-speaker/headphone user. Since
Aureal has gone into marketing there products themselves we'll no
longer see the Monster Sound line sporting Aureal processors or
the A3D 2.0/3.0 API. Teaming up with ESS technologies diamond has
come up with the successor to the mighty MX300, the even mightier
MX400 which has incorporated Sensaura`s 3D Positional Audio technology.
So let's see if they've really come up with a monster to succeed
the mighty MX300 as claimed by diamond….
