Conclusion
The BX-133 RAID
is not just another old BX board with an overclocked Northbridge.ABIT
has actually included some very useful features in their latest
addition to the BX family.
The BX-133 RAID
is great for all the 133Mz Coppermine processors. But with the release
of the i815E chipset the i440BX might be finally put to rest. We
were very impressed with the CUSL2
from ASUS, which is based on the i815E. In fact technoyard gave
the CUSL2 a 94% rating. But if you still want to get a i440BX board, the
BX-133 RAID is the best option available to you. The BX platform
running at 133MHz is extremely stable and the Ultra ATA/100 RAID
support is one useful feature you can't miss out on. Still the i440BX
misses some features we would like to see on current day chipsets
like AGP 4X.
Finally, do
we firmly believe that the BX era has come to an end?…….Well no!.
With ABIT's introduction of the BX-133 RAID it is very likely that
companies like Gigabyte and MSI will follow the leader. So we'll
probably see a few more of these beloved BX boards in time to come.
