The URANUS in detail

The URANUS comes in a very attractive packaging and is offered in 3 different colors, namely Blue, Black and Ash. Taking the device out of the box you’re offered with the enclosure, USB and eSATA cable, SATA to eSATA adapter cable with bracket, Power adapter, a cleaning cloth to keep the URANUS dust free, a user manual and driver CD. Also included are screws to secure the hard drive and casing in place.

From first glance the URANUS looks extremely sleek, with a polished aluminum casing. The casing is labeled with the corresponding connectors below it on the side.

On top you’re offered with a dual one touch backup button which allows you to back up individual files are the whole system at a click on a button. The backup software being used for this is also provided with the URANUS.

Before you can use the one touch backup feature however you need to make your selections in PC Clone EX; the backup software that’s provided. Then it’s a matter of pressing the button on the URANUS and it’ll bring up a dialog box to confirm the action. It’s a pretty simple to use software and ideal for the home user. I personally rely on Acronis True Image for all my backups but PC Clone EX will do the job for most users out there.
