Buffalo HPFI-10025 and HPFA-10025 Heat-Pipe cooler
Since these two coolers are exactly the same except for the locking mechanism for the platform, we’ll be looking at the Intel cooler but will run the tests for both. I don't know why Evercool decided not to sell one cooler with both types of adapters, but I'd say it's a pricing decision.
The Buffalo HPFI cooler comes in a very attractive packaging giving a full description of the cooler and its specs from the outside. It also has graphical illustrations of the installation process.
The specs as shown in the cover itself:
The rated noise level is well under 30dBA which is very impressive and we shall see how true it is when turned on.
Taking out the cooler from the packaging you’re offered a fully setup cooler along with some thermal paste. Since this cooler is offered in two flavors for Intel and AMD platforms, the locking mechanism is pre-installed depending on which one you order.
The 1800RPM 100x 100 x 25mm fan in enclosed in an open frame design for best air flow to the aluminum heatsinks. The rubber padding between the cooler and the fan helps keep any additional noise created by the fan down to a minimum.
The top section of the cooler consists of a decorative design of two bulls and shows the top end of the heat pipes.
For fast heat dissipation the aluminum panels are designed quite thin. There are around 50-60 well polished aluminum panels giving adequate real-estate for the copper heatpipes to dissipate the hot air through.
