The Tests
Alright, time to test out how these speakers perform. Before we go onto the tests, let me point out a few facts. This is a 3-piece speaker system which has a total power rating of only 20Watts. So this is by no means adequate for high-end audio fans, and don't even expect it to perform at that level. Fact is there are physical limitations as to what a 2.5" and a 4" driver can produce, so if you're expecting earth shattering bass and crisp clear trebles, then this system won't be your best cup of coffee. I just wanted to set the expectations right before I went on to detail on this section.
For testing purposed I got hold of a few instrumental CD's and a few dance and rock music CD's. Instrumental music is ideal for testing the high range clarity of speakers while dance a rock music CD's are ideal for testing the sub. First I played a few instrumental CD's, and I must admit the sound was really much better than what I had expected. Of course the crispness of the sound wasn't in par with the TDK S-150 system, yet we must understand to compare apples with apples. The J8902 is capable of producing decent high-range frequencies and the mid ranges are equally impressive for a speaker system in its range. As I mentioned before there are physical limitations as to what a 2.5" driver can produce. Nevertheless if we were to compare a speaker system in it's caliber the J8902 would certainly stand out. High frequencies are certainly quite well produced by these two satellites, however they lack in depth as a result of the 2.5" driver.
As pointed out before the J8902 is catered towards users who wish to have a cheap audio system, yet produces decent level of sound. This would be an ideal upgrade for users still stuck with those desktop speakers you got with the purchase of your PC. It'll no doubt be a giant leap from those crappy desktop speakers.
Next I inserted a dance CD to test the quality of bass.
Next I went onto play a few games. Since I'm a real car buff, I got hold of NASCAR racing 2002 and NFS5. This is where the J8902 truly stands out in the crowed. The car revs, crashes and most of the effects were very well produced. I really loved the overall effect given during game play.
Conclusion
The J-8902 retails at only at AUD$99, now this is no doubt a bargain. Think about it, this is like only US$50 for a very decent speaker system, so what more can you ask for. Also most of you out there will love the classic retro look given by these speakers. The sound is quite decent and the price is just perfect, which makes the J8902 really sort after. For the market the J8902 is directed at, it's certainly a very penetrative product and it'll crush most of its competition. While the J8902 may not be the best 3-piece speaker system you'd find out there in the market, it'll definitely be one of the best buys in its price range. If you're a average user looking for a cheap speaker system which still has some really good punch beneath its belt, then the Jazz Speaker J8902 speakers is one system that we would truly recommend at getting.

Considering
the sub is only a 4" driver the quality is very good. The bass
is deep and quite refined, only problem though is that there's a limit
as to how much bass the sub produces. Turning the volume control beyond
the halfway mark would not result in any increase in sound since the
speakers have maxed out. However the good thing is that even at high
volumes the sub and the satellites do not distort at all. The enclosure
of the sub tends to vibrate slightly than it would normally do at
high volumes, but this isn't a really big issue at all. The quality
of the bass is really very good, only think lacking is the depth a
hardcore audio junky would look for. It's pretty obvious these speakers
aren't for the high-end user market, so for average users the quality
of this system is good enough.
