Installation

To install the drives on to the DS207 you first need to place the DS207 sideways with the rear connections facing you. Thereafter slowly push out the top section of the enclosure forward which will separate the unit in two

Installing the drives is very straight forward; simply slide the drive in place and attach the power and data connectors in place. Note one of the power and data connectors are longer than the other, which needs to be used on the top hard drive. (Note: Disk #1 is installed at the bottom and Disk #2 on top)

After the drives are in place you need to slide back the cover and secure it with the screws provided. Now you’re ready to turn on the DS207 for the first time. You can connect it to your router through the Gigabit Ethernet port. Note that you will see gigabit speeds only if your router and PC support this feature.

Once you start the DS207 the LED indicators start flashing orange until everything is initialized. Thereafter all status indicators turn green and gives a single audio beep to indicate the system is ready.

There after insert the provided CD and go through the installation process. Nothing hard here, it’s just a matter of point and click. At the end of the software installation the software will automatically find the DS207 on the network.

The first step you need to do there after is initialize the drives. For this you need to type in the IP address for the DS207 which will bring up the following interface to login to the system.
